The Rozimba story began back in 1997 when our hairdresser introduced me to her Briard Storm (CH Larla Lacoste) in an attempt to stop me from being scared of dogs needless to say it worked and we soon got our first dog Simba who we started to show, we qualified for the JHA semi finals at richmond at our first show and Simba got a first at his first championship show qualifying for Crufts, since then I have gone on to win the BBC's junior handler of the year for 4 consecutive years and have had many wins at open and championship show level including Crufts and I still compete in the 17-24 YKC handling where ever possible and I recently qualified for the Coventry ladies handling competition
Simba had a successful show career dispite his novice owners and in 1999 won a RCC at Birmingham city championship show qualifying for Crufts for life and I would like to thank Shiela Cann for letting me have our little boy, who became the founder of Rozimba, and to our hairdresser who introduced me to the world of dogs.
4 years after getting Simba we got Belle in 2001 who did well as a puppy and again in veteren where she gained 2 RCC's and 3BVIS at breed club shows and qualified for the ykc stakes final at Crufts 2009 about 2 years later my mum fell in love with pyrenean sheepdogs and we introduced Ricaud into our family and my mum started to show him in import register classes until she wasn't feeling up to it at Darlington in 2006 so I took him in and got reserve best dog and I have been handling him ever since and we have got 4 BOB's to date we have also had many handling wins and Ricaud also became the first PSD to qualify for the YKC stakes final. 2007 saw the arrival of Chance and Aisha neither of which seemed to take to the show ring so they spend their lives lounging around although Aisha became a mum to our first ever litter in 2008 starting the Rozimba pyrenean line, we kept one of these puppies who will be making an appearance in the show ring in 2009 along with some of his brothers and sisters
I Judge Briards, Pyrenean Sheepdogs and Junior Handling classes and am on the B list breed speciallist lists for both breeds as well as being on the C list for most pastoral breeds awaiting my B list assesments, I recently took my first General championship show judging appointment at Leeds champ show in July 2007 and hope to do more in the future.
In 2006 I was sponsered by the YKC to attend an outward bounds leadership and development programme which has led to me helping to run the YKC ring at Crufts.
I am currently on the committee of the pyrenean sheepdog club of GB and the Huddersfield and district canine assocaiation and write the Dog World breed notes for pyrenean sheepdogs.
